Date: 20th Mar 2016 @ 5:33pm

Hello children,

I would like you to think carefully about the P4C question below and post your answer on this blog.  Remember to give a reason for your answer.

The question is:

Is it ever okay to advertise sweets to children?

I look forward to your thoughts,

Mr Tait

No because sweets aren't good for you and it will ruin your diet

Thanks for your views Kayla. What about the sweet company's point of view? Have they got the right to make money?

The reason why I think no is because that children become more interested in unhealthy eating and that'll make them damage their teeth.

Thanks for your interesting comments Afreen. What about the sweet company's right to make money from selling their sweets?

Orwah wrote:

I agree with Afreen because it isn't healthy for children and it could damage their teeth. I also disagree a little because the company will make money.

I think no because it encourages children to just eat chocolates for no good reason but it make them over weighted and it has a lot of sugar. However it makes good business process for the company. But if you keep on buying chocolates, this can affect your parents because it simply just wastes their money. The children just learn to become greedy,it also makes them forget about their diet. Finally, they will forget how to be heathy again.

I think you should not advertise sweets to children because their teeth will go black and they will stop being healthy also the business might not send the money to charity. The children will beg their parents and all their last little penny's will go to wast.

In my opinion i think that they should not advertise sweets to children because they're parents are wasting money on something that they know is not good for their children. On the other hand, companies advertise sweets to children (or even adults) just to make money out of this. I hope you are collaborative with my idea +have a nice day.

About the sweets company I am creative : the people who have made the sweets might think that it is just a treat (snack) for children.
