Phonics websites to try

Date: 2nd Dec 2017 @ 7:42pm

Hello everyone!

We've been doing very well with our Christmas play rehearsals this week. Soon you will be able to see for yourself how well your little munchkins have done. :)

A lot of parents have been asking about phonics, segmenting and blending at home, so I've included a few website links that are good for reading simple CVC words from phase 2. Don't try to read letters that your child hasn't learnt yet as they must know the letter sound (phoneme) before they can read words related to the sounds that they know.

I have found a fantastic website that you can all use for phonics games at home. I will send the letters out next week with your child's username and password.

In the meantime here's a few websites for now that are good to try out:

Phonics play (there are some free games that you can play):

https://www.phonicsplay.co.uk/freeIndex.htm

This website generates words based on the letters that your child already knows:

See you soon!

Miss Lewis :)
