What have we been up too?

Hello Everyone!

I am so sorry that I haven't updated out blog for such a long time. I've just been too busy having lots of fun learning in our Nursery. Since I last posted we have started to base our learning around the theme of a book. The first book we read was "We're going on a Bear Hunt" where we too went looking for some bears outside (we found some really big one's- but we were really brave and they were really friendly!). The children enjoyed creating bears using different materials and by the time we had finished even managed to 'write' their own stories. Please look at our display in the lower hall to see what else we did!

We decided to stick to the theme of bears for our next book by looking at "Goldilocks and the 3 Bears". The children loved acting out the story in the 3 bears cottage outside and tasting some of Baby Bear's favourite food- porridge! We loved it! smiley

Since coming back after the easter holiday we have started a new theme around 'How does your garden grow?' We started this by looking at 'Jack and the Beanstalk'. We were greeted by magic beans and a golden egg when we came back. The children we're intrigued to find out who's they were and where they had come from. They have enjoyed writing giant letters, building the giants castle and making a giant book for the giant to read. We will be finishing this book next week by having a giant visit nursery to read his book-> he is very excited (as are we!).

I will aim to complete a blog post every 6 weeks to keep you posted about what exciting things we get up to!

I have attached our latest newsletter, but if you have any questions or concerns please feel free to speak to one of us!
