Year 4 visit to Heaton Park

Date: 2nd May 2017 @ 9:21pm

Hello everyone,

Today, Class 4L visited Heaton Park to apply map skills we have been learning about. The focus of the visit was to find out what the following areas or buildings were being used for and how these areas/buildings could be improved in the future:

1) The boating lake;

2) Heaton Hall;

3) The woodland near Heaton Hall.

We discussed some interesting ideas which included activities for both children and adults.  For example, for Heaton Hall (which is currently being renovated) the children thought of the following future uses: a museum; a hire shop with kites and go-carts; a cinema; a school; and a crèche/nursery where parents can leave their children while they do other activities in the park.

What would you do to improve these areas ?

Mr. Tait
