Welcome back year 3! This half term we will be looking first at Judaism and then Sikhism and seeing what we can discover about these religions. A - So what do we already know about Judaism?
B - Let’s look a little closer at the Passover meal and why this is celebrated in the Jewish calendar. Watch this Exodus video - https://www.bbc.co.uk/bitesize/clips/zbsb9j6 "Exodus" means when lots of people leave somewhere at the same time. C - Your task is to write a letter to the Pharoah. Remind him what the Jewish people are doing for him and how they might be feeling and how he should be treating them. I have started the letter for you and you should put the date on the top line, finish with “Yours sincerely” and put your name on the bottom line. When you have completed your work, please send me a copy to the email address, thanks!! Mrs Oseman – [email protected]

This week we will be focusing on Unit 6- adding -ation to verbs to form nouns. Day 1- Monday 8th June 2020 Unit 6- adding -ation to verbs to form nouns Today we would like you to create a list of words that end with -ation. Once you have created the list underline -ation in each word. -ation is an ending that can be added to lots of words. It sounds like ay and shun, doesn’t it? We can add -ation to some verbs to change them into nouns. If the verb ends in a consonant we just add the suffix: inform + ation information Here is an example sentence I made up using these words. Ahem! You must inform the police at once! Give them all the information you have. But if the verb ends in e we must drop the e before adding -ation: adore + ation = adoration Here they are in a sentence: I adore my new puppy, and he looks at me with adoration, too. Weird Word Warning! There are some words that contain -ation as part of the root word and not as a suffix. For example: station nation Day 2- Tuesday 9th June 2020 Unit 6- adding -ation to verbs to form noun Today we'll be completing our dots and dashes. Remember: . for single phonemes __ for digraphs ( for split digraph Day 3- Wednesday 10th June 2020 Unit 6- adding -ation to verbs to form noun Today we're doing word changers. Complete the grid with the root word, suffix and then the combined word. Day 4- Thursday 11th June 2020 Unit 6- adding -ation to verbs to form noun Today we're doing choose the right word. Write out or read out these sentences with the correct word in the space. Day 5- Friday 12th June 2020 Unit 6- adding -ation to verbs to form noun Today we would like you to practise your handwriting and spellings together. Here is a list of spellings: admiration, adoration, alteration, cancellation, explanation, exploration, information, observation, plantation, preparation, realisation, reservation, sensation, separation, temptation Remember to join your letters! you can draw your own guidelines if you don't have lined paper or if you are able to print handwriting paper, we have attached some below.
Good morning everybody, we hope you had a fantastic half term and managed to get outside for a bit and enjoy the sunshine.
The blog will work a little differently from today.
