Can you draw a map of Britain...without using an atlas? Even better, label the major cities! When you are finished, use an atlas to check if you were accurate.

![]() This morning, I would like you read the persuasive advert you completed yesterday aloud to yourself. This will help you to spot any spelling and grammar errors you have made. Please use a dictionary to check your spellings or use an online checker such as: https://dictionary.cambridge.org/dictionary/english/spelling After this, make any corrections to your writing. I also want you to check that you have included your writing targets. If you haven’t included your writing targets, please make sure that they are included. When you have finished your editing, read your advert to your mum, dad or carer to see if they would buy your product. Remember to use your oracy skills, when you are reading aloud! Thank you. Can you convert decimals into fractions, and vice-versa?
Here's a cool worksheet...remember, if you get stuck, there is a video tutorial attached to the link. https://wrm-13b48.kxcdn.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/homelearning/year-5/Y5-Spring-Block-3-WO2-Decimals-as-fractions-1-2019.pdf ![]() Good morning children! It is a beautiful, sunny day and we hope everyone continues to keep safe and well. These are the learning activities we want you to complete today in addition to english, maths and a wider curriculum subject in the afternoon: 1. The Joe Wicks’ work out which will be shown on his you tube channel. The work out starts at 9am and lasts for 30 minutes. Click on this link to take part in his work out:https://www.youtube.com/user/thebodycoach1 2. From 9.30 – 10.00 am, we want you to practice your spellings. The spelling lists were uploaded on a blog post dated 20/3/20. We suggest that you practise ten spellings each day (start on step 5). Remember to use the ‘Look, say, cover, write, check’ method to remember the spellings. 3. From 10.00 – 10.15 am, Dr Chipindall will doing ‘live’ teaching of computing, science or engineering. Go to the following blog page to take part in this learning:https://drchips.weebly.com/ 4. Straight after lunch, we want you to do some reading for half an hour. Read your book or online text to an experienced reader (this could be your mum, dad, carer, brother, sister or any other relative). While you are reading, ask the person who is listening to you read to ask you questions about the book/text. We uploaded reading questions in a blog post yesterday. If you have any questions about the learning activities then please email your teacher at: [email protected] (for Mr Ahmed-Swift) [email protected] (for Mr Tait) This afternoon, we want you to think use your thinking and reasoning skills by taking part in a couple of P4C activities. Firstly, think carefully about the following P4C question: After you have thought about this question, please discuss it with anyone in your house. Remember to take turns speaking, and use our year 5 speaking frames (the speaking frames are available to download on this blog posting). After expressing your opinion, discuss with each other whether your opinion has changed or is still the same. Finally, we want you to write your opinion down using any writing targets you can. For example, my response to the question would be: The new law I would introduce would be for people, who have been taking too much food and provisions from supermarkets, to be made to take any excessive food and provisions they have to vulnerable people and NHS workers and say sorry. Obviously, when they say sorry, they need to stay at least two metres away from the people they are saying sorry to! After you have completed this, please watch the Spot and Strip video focusing on the question ‘Was maths invented or discovered?’. Again, have a P4C related discussion with someone in your house focused on this question. Click on the link below: https://www.thephilosophyman.com/brainsqueezers Thank you and see you tomorrow morning for a 9am start. ![]()
