2nd March 2020.
To link with our Victorian and Electricity topics, we visited the MOSI Museum in Manchester. We had a fun, filled day carrying out lots of different activities. First, we watched the Revolution Manchester show, then we went to the weavers workhouse and got to see a demonstration of how a Cotton Mill machine worked. We then visited Circuit City and had the chance to explore the Science floor. Have a look at our pictures to see what we got up to! 19th December 2019
Today , we had our Christmas party. The children got to wear their party clothes and play lots of different party games such as pass the parcel, musical statues and musical bumps. Our favourite game was a game left by our class Elf, Buddy! It was called pin the nose on the reindeer - we were blindfolded and we then had to put a red sticker on where we thought the Reindeer's nose was. As you can see by the pictures, some of us were close but some of us were WAY off! December 2019
Today we prepared our hot chocolate reindeer's and bath bombs to sell at our school Winter Fayre. We worked hard as a team to make as many as we could so we could raise a lot of money for the school. Have a look at our pictures to see what we got up to. 26th November 2019.
Today we went to Manchester Library to meet a famous, published author - Joseph Coelho! Joseph Coelho is a performance poet, children's author and playwright. On our visit, Joseph read some of his poems and taught us how to be an award-winning poet too! His poems were very funny and we had loads of fun joining in. We even got our class book signed! Have a look at our pictures below. 8th November 2019.
We had a visit from Zoo Lab! As part of our Rainforest topic, a lady from Zoo Lab came to visit us with different animals that would live there. We got to hold the animals as well as smell and try ingredients in their raw form - such as chocolate! 24th October 2019
Today the children ended their Anglo-Saxon topic with a feast. The children got into roles of characters who would have lived during the Anglo-Saxon period. We also had servants who served the food in order of importance. Yusha was the thane and he was very strict! We also had some lovely entertainment provided by our talented Minstrel (Abdur-Rahman). We had a fantastic time! Have a look at our pictures below. Hello everyone,
Today, the children in 4L took part in loads of fun activities throughout the day. Activities included a multi-sports morning with Crab Lane children, a disco, slime making workshop, a Brazilian dance/martial art session and a game of boules at the end of the day. It was fantastic! Please check out our photos. Mr Tait Hello everyone,
Today, children in 4L took part in a class assembly in front of KS2 children and parents. The children acted out a Victorian classroom scene, took part in a mini-P4C enquiry, sung a song and a few children read their persuasive texts. I was very proud of my children's efforts! Please check out our photos taken from our fantastic assembly. Mr Tait Hello everyone,
Today, children dropped everything and read! Some children bought their books from home to read. Judging by these photos, it looks like the children found their books very engrossing and calming. Mr Tait On Friday, 17th May it was History Day at CLPS. In 5L, we looked at the partition of India and Pakistan from 1947. It was really interesting to find out what happened. We then imagined we were Muslims having to flee India and thought about what five items we would pack in our suitcase. We then used Reading into Writing to create our own diary extracts before practising our oracy skills and reading them aloud.
