Hi all,
As a fun way to recap out Internet safety knowledge, I'd like you to spend some time play Google's Interland game this week. The link for it is below. There are 4 worlds and I'd like you to complete at least 2, but you can do more. https://beinternetawesome.withgoogle.com/en_us/interland Enjoy!

Hi all,
A few weeks back we did a science/engineering activity where we created paper aeroplanes and then thought about how we could improve their design to fly further. To take this a step further I would like you to visit this website (which is the greatest paper aeroplane website ever created!) https://www.foldnfly.com/#/1-1-1-1-1-1-1-1-2 I would like you to choose two designs and create and test these. Then some questions for you to think about: Which flies further and why? Does one fly faster than the other, why do you think this is? What is the force pulling the aircraft towards the ground? Email me anything you discover at [email protected] Good morning children,
White Rose Hub are adding home learning opportunities to their website each week. This will include video tutorials and worksheets to use. This week, Year 5 will be learning about rounding and ordering decimals in addition to percentages. Today, please complete lesson 4 of week 2. Happy learning! This week we’ve looked at some poems. Tomorrow you are going to try to write your own poem. To get us ready for tomorrow, take a look at the list of words below. For every word, think of and write two words that rhyme with it.
Bear Sand Flower Cat Frog Night Morning Sure Great Fair Challenge – pick any five of the Y5 spelling words and see how many words you can find that rhyme with each word you’ve picked. E.g. yacht > tot, knot, lot... Hello children and happy Thursday!
How is everyone today? Did you try the “Melt” exercise yesterday? Here’s a similar activity – this short clip shows how to use your body to change how you feel. Try it as a brain break today! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=O29e4rRMrV4 These are the learning activities we want you to complete today in addition to English and Maths: 1. The Joe Wicks work out which will be shown on his “Youtube” channel. The work out starts at 9am and lasts for 30 minutes. Click on this link to take part:https://www.youtube.com/user/thebodycoach1 2. From 9.30 – 10.00 am, we want you to practice your spellings. The spelling lists were uploaded on a blog post dated 20/3/20. We suggest that you practise ten spellings each day (start on step 5). Remember to use the ‘Look, say, cover, write, check’ method to remember the spellings. 3. From 10.00 – 10.15 am, Dr Chipindall will doing live teaching of computing, science or engineering. Go to the following blog page to take part in this learning:https://drchips.weebly.com/ 4. After lunch, we want you to read for half an hour. Read your book or online text to an experienced reader if possible (this could be your mum, dad, carer, brother, sister or any other relative). While you are reading, ask the person who is listening to you read to ask you questions about the book/text. If you have any questions about the learning activities then please email us at: [email protected] (for Mr Ahmed-Swift) [email protected] (for Mr Tait) Hi guys, 5L and 5C, Hope you are well. I'd like you to write about the first four doors of Islam. I have uploaded a file for you to print off if you can and a power point to help you do your work. It is important that you DON'T copy what is written in the power point. It is important that you explain what Muslims must do in their lives in order to enter each of the first four doors of Jannah. DON'T worry if you struggle with the second door/gate: this will be covered in great detail when you move in to year year 6. You MUST write about the first FOUR doors only! Remember to post your work on the blog , if you can- a photo of this will be fine. Thankyou, Mr R It's nice to see that some people have done this work-thank you Hamzah for sending your work via email to Mr Tate;he has forwarded your work to me. Anishah, I am fine and I appreciate you asking. Have you done the work that I have set for you in RE? ![]()

Do you remember the work you did on “The UK” recently in Topic (Geography)? Imagine that some friends are coming to stay with you soon. They have never been to Manchester before. Can you think of- and write down - ten fun tourist activities that they could do when they visit?
For a challenge, can you list five tourist activities that you and your friends could do when you visit another city in the UK? I have received the first book review written by Muhammad . It's great to hear what you thought about the book (Diary of a Wimpy Kid - The Getaway) Muhammad and that you really enjoyed it. Keep calm and keep reading everyone! Check out Muhammad's book review below.
