Hello children and happy Friday!
How is everyone on this beautiful day? Did anybody try the “gratitude” exercise yesterday? If so, do let us know via a comment to the blog. Do remember, though, write your first name only – don’t include your surname. Here’s an interesting “mindfulness” exercise. Do you remember one thing you learned last Friday? What about the Friday before? How about the Friday before that? How many Fridays can you go back, remembering one thing you learned on each day? These are the learning activities we want you to complete today in addition to English and Maths:
[email protected] (for Mr Ahmed-Swift) [email protected] (for Mr Tait) Thank you to Hamzah and Humayra for sending me their persuasive adverts. Hamzah, I'm really pleased you have used positive language in your text and you have used a relative clause and parenthesis. Humayra, you should feel proud, because your advert is clearly written, it contains targets such as a bulleted list and above all, the language you use is persuasive! Well done to the both of you! Check out the adverts below.
Today, I was fortunate to receive a couple of photos from Mariya showing the fantastic work she has completed at home. She designed an informative poster about the solar system and also made some lego items as part of the '30 Day Lego Play Challenge'. I am so pleased you have used your time away from school so productively Mariya! Check out Mariya's handiwork below.
look out for your RE work for Friday afternoon. Create a poster to show the reasons why people lead good lives. You must use these four headings: Heaven, Hell, Good, Bad . If you can, down load and print off the sheet. Let me know how you get on. Try to upload a photo of your poster. Take care, Mr Roberts.
Bonjour Year 5! Aujourd'hui c’est jeudi le 26 mars 2020. Your blog is fantastique! Here is a reminder of a Home Learning chart you may have already seen. You can start with your own year group and explore topics in other year groups to revisit some learning. There are videos, games with QR and keywords. I will post some familiar and new activities next week. Please add comments so I can hear about how you are getting on! Bon Travail! Mrs Oseman
Hi all, a few weeks ago we practised our typing using www.typingtest.com
For this week's computing I would like you to practise your typing skills using https://www.bbc.co.uk/bitesize/topics/zf2f9j6/articles/z3c6tfr Then I would like you to take the typing test again to see if you can improve your score! Hello all, Dr Chips here.
A few weeks ago we looked at various parts of plants which let them reproduce. We used this great webpage from the BBC. https://www.bbc.co.uk/bitesize/topics/zgssgk7/articles/zqbcxfr Task : You may have noticed that plants in your garden, or in pots around the house have started to flower as we are in spring. I want you to take a close look at the flowers and see if you can identify the parts of the flower we learnt about. Visit the webpage above again if you need to recap these. This afternoon, we want you to draw a self portrait. You may want to use a mirror to remind yourself of what you look like! E-mail us any art work that you are particularly proud of!
Good luck! Hello children, This morning for english, I would like you to do two activities: 1. Log onto Spag.com and complete the SPAG test about cohesive devices; https://www.spag.com/ 2. With someone in your household I would like you discuss the following question: Should school uniforms be banned? Some of you will think that school uniforms should be banned and some of you will think they shouldn’t be banned. When you have this discussion, remember to use your oracy skills and speaking frames. After you have discussed this question, I want you to write down all your reasons for wanting school uniforms to be banned or not banned. Please see below, how your list of reasons could look. Please try to think of your own reasons, although you are allowed to use a few of mine! You can even practice using bullet points in your list!
School uniforms should be banned for the following reasons:
