L.O. Can I improve a piece of writing? What makes a great writer? I want you to improve the writing pages 19/20 so that if there were no pictures we could still think about how the boy would feel. What could you add? You may want to expand the text by including: -Verb choice -5 Senses: Sight, sound, smell, taste, touch -Expanded noun phrases -Body language -Thoughts -Feelings Can you retell the story in an exciting way? My example for the first paragraph: A strange, young boy ran up to a group of hunters, gathered together in the beautiful, green fields. The boy was shouting and pointing enthusiastically towards the hills. The hungry hunters quickly grabbed their spears and followed the young boy, rapidly running towards the hills. Om and I ran behind the hunters, following them with curiosity. Now it's your turn. Can you retell the story in an exciting way for pages 19 and 20 which are shown above. Think about: -Verb choice -5 Senses: Sight, sound, smell, taste, touch -Expanded noun phrases -Body language -Thoughts -Feelings You can use this online thesaurus to find exciting vocabulary to use. www.collinsdictionary.com/dictionary/english-thesaurus I can't wait to read your stories! If you go out for reading with either Miss Rafiq, Mrs Malik, Mrs Youssef, Mrs Begum or Miss Parkes then you can also play some of the games below. Enjoy!

We would like you to continue reading at home so once you have read your current reading book, you can access some free, online books at:
https://www.oxfordowl.co.uk/for-home/find-a-book/library-page/ Each book also has corresponding activities for you to complete online too. Happy reading! Answer the questions below. They are linked to the work we have been doing on 'The Gingerbread Star' by Anne Fine. Inference 'In an earthy burrow at the end of a very long lane lived a plain little grey worm'. 1. How do the descriptions show that Hetty might be considered boring? 'Hetty saw a small light dancing in the dark wood'. 2. What does the word 'dancing' suggest about the glow-worms? Think about what you have to do when you dance. 'Hetty said nothing. But she kept watching the lovely little lights between the trees until it danced away'. 3. What do you think Hetty was thinking of while watching the little lights? ![]()
Hello 3C children. Last week, we were due to watch Mrs Fairclough and Mr Hughes' Good Work Assembly but then we had to get everything arranged for our home learning! The Star of the Week last week was...Arush! Well done! Usually on a Wednesday, we have our Samba lessons. We didn't want you to miss out so here is a PowerPoint for you to watch about Samba, with a quiz and video for you to watch at the end. The video shows how we can use household items to make your own Samba instruments so why not give that a go when you're finished? We would love to see pictures! Have fun! ![]()
