L.O. Can I recognise empathy and compassion? Activity 1: Look at the 'How Would You Feel If...' activity. What emotions might people in these scenarios be feeling? Identifying and considering how others are feeling is called having empathy. Therefore, if we were to act with empathy this would mean we would we would try to consider and understand how others may be feeling and why they may feel or behave in a certain way. In response to this, we would offer them support or help or respond in a kind and caring way. This is called showing compassion. Activity 2: Thinking about how we might be empathetic and show compassion, can you recognise the compassionate behaviours in the 'How to Act' activity. If you can, colour the compassionate behaviours red. Activity 3: Thinking about these compassionate and empathetic behaviours, how might you act in each of the scenarios in 'In Their Shoes'? Reflection - It is always important to be respectful and mindful of how others may be feeling. It is just as important that we think about how what we say and do may impact others. ![]()

Hello home learners,
Miss Cloherty has asked that we share a message with you. It has come to that time of the year when we choose new members for our Learning Council and new children to be Wellbeing Warriors. If anyone is interested in this, you need to write a letter to Miss Cloherty. In your letter you need to say why you think you would be suitable. What qualities do you have? What do you think a LC/WW's role would be? You can apply for both roles but you would only be chosen for one. Please write your letter at home and then send it to us via email and then we can forward it to Miss Cloherty. Thanks, Miss Curzon & Ms Gold Hello home learners,
We thought it would be a good idea to have a check in with our Zones of Regulation. How are you feeling? This morning, I was in the blue zone because I was tired. I had some water and got myself dressed and then I moved into the green zone. Unfortunately, I then had some issues with my internet and this made me feel very frustrated and put me in the yellow zone. Thankfully, I managed to sort it out and this then helped me return to the green zone. What zone are you in today? Arush and Burhan need to complete these activities over the next two weeks. ![]()
